【摘要】:Thedeteriorationofaninsulatingcoatingfilmisintimatelyrelatedtoitsmoisturecontent.Thewaterpenetrationtestprovidesameansformonitoringthepassageofmoisturethroughacoatingmaterialbymeansofchangesinitsdielectricconstant.Whenexpressedinrelationtotime,thetestdatawillreflectarateofdeteriorationwhichisacharacteristicofthecoatingmaterialandwillbeararelationtoitsexpectedusefullifeasaninsulatingcoating.Thetestforwaterpenetrationwillalsoprovideinformationthatisusefulinestablishingtheoptimumcoatingthicknessforagivenmaterial.1.1Thismethodcoversthedeterminationoftheapparentrateofdepthofwaterpenetrationintoinsulatingcoatingsappliedtopipe.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
